Review: All Power America APG3014 2000 Watt Portable Generator

The All Power America APG3014 is designed to be used on a smaller scale, such as at a campsite, job site, or power one big appliance in your home such as a refrigerator. You could use it during a power outage for a short period of time by alternating it between certain appliances, but that’s not what it was ultimately built for. It’s very compact, lightweight and very easy to move around. The APG3014 is the least expensive of all the portable generators I have reviewed so far. However, this doesn’t mean that it lacks quality.

If you are not familiar with All Power America, they manufacture a wide range power tools and equipment including air compressors, pressure washers, generators, electric saws, cordless drills, grinders, among others. They have an excellent reputation for producing quality and customer service.

A 3 HP 4 stroke engine comes with the All Power America APG3014 portable generator that produces 2000 surge watts and 1400 continuous or rated watts. This is not enough power to supply all your essentials in your home, but you can use it for one appliance at a time. The 4 stroke engine is important so that you won’t have to premix gas. Plus, a 4 stroke engine will last longer that the 2 stroke ones that are on the market.

At a 50% load, you can run it for approximately 9.5 hours. This is very impressive when compared to some other generators. It’s also operates at a decibel level of 68, so noise won’t be a factor.

As mentioned, it’s very lightweight-weighing less than 60 pounds. This makes it very easy to take to a job site or camping.

It has a built in fuel gauge which comes in handy. Surprisingly, not all portable generators come with this feature.

An all-inclusive warranty covers the whole generator and can be serviced all across the USA at any All Power America outlet.

Overall, the All Power America APG3014 represents excellent value for the dollar. The outstanding warranty provided gives customers confidence in the product. It performs well and does everything it claims to. There is nothing special about it, not a lot of bells and whistles, but if you want a portable generator is this watt range, then this is one to purchase.

Does what I need it for. Provides power for the small power tools that I use,ie, circular saw etc.Even with an extension cord my tools worked great. When first used, kill switch did not work. Reason, wire not hooked up to kill switch. No oil was provided, had to buy oil. For small projects I would recommend. -flyer

Wow! This little generator is AWESOME! We bought it for camping and as a backup when the power fails. Granted, it is only 1,400 watts, but I was looking for something that is light weight. My wife can move this around if need be. After adding oil and gas, it started on the 3rd pull. It runs everything in our RV and is quieter than I expected. I was talking on the cell phone to my fishing buddy while it was running and he couldn’t hear it. I was about 20 feet away. I would recommend this to all my friends! phillger51

“I have used this generator for over a month now. I run a 1000 watt work light, drop light, portable radio, and dvd player all at the same time. All this use has been at the beach. It has always started by the 4 pull and that is because I forget to set the choke, it is a light pull weight 11 or 12 year old can start it. Others complained about initial start up, follow the start up directions and it will start right up. Price was fair, size and weight were my consideration. Fits great in the trunk of my car and easy to get in and out. With everything plugged in uses gas up pretty quick, with just the 1000W light 4 hours. Buy the 5 gallon gas can. Had a smaller generator before and it just did not have the power I needed. I am very happy with the quality this purchase overall. – ronniej1M
