Review: Champion Power Equipment 46534 4000 Watt Portable Generator
The Champion Power Equipment 46534 Generator has an output of 3500 continuous watts and 4000 surge watts. This power is sufficient enough to power a couple larger appliances or many smaller ones such as a computer, microwave, lights, fans, phones, TV, and so on. With a surge protector, you can supply power to these items simultaneously. This generator is designed primarily as a emergency backup during power outages, but can be used for recreational purposes or at a job site.
Included with the generator is a spark arrester kit, spark plug socket, oil funnel, a wheel and handle kit, and a 1 year limited warranty.

The Champion 46534 4000 Watt Portable Generator has a 3.8 gallon tank will run for 12 hours at a 50% load. This is very beneficial during power outages, as you can turn it on and let it run for almost an entire day. The recoil start makes it easy to operate. Assembly only takes a few minutes.
Along with a 120-volt 30- amp Twist-Lock, the 46534 has a 120-volt 30- amp RV outlet and another 120-volt 20amp outlet. All outlets are protected by circuit breakers. Having three outlets is advantageous so you can power a number of items at once.
Weighing just 117 pounds and coming with a wheel kit, the Champion 4000 can be moved around without much effort to provide power where needed. Vibration mounts allow for more mobility while reducing noise level.
Cons
Other than a few customer complaints about the generator being damaged upon delivery, there are no considerable flaws with this generator. The only other real downside is that this isn’t one of the top name brands available.
You can’t really go wrong with this generator. It’s reliable, compact, and has a good amount of power.

This is a great generator for its size. We had a storm about a week after we got it. And it took the power out for about seven hours. I started this thing on the second pull, and ran a 10,000 BTU window AC unit and a side by side Frig. and satallite reciver and TV. Never sputterd when the Frig shut on and off with the AC running. Received the generator with part broken. Just received the new part after several tries. Kept sending the wrong one. I now have the correct part but have not installed so have not started the generator as yet. – Patricia R. Erwin
Only problem I’ve had so far is that the gasket for the petcock on the gas tank deteriorated and started leaking! Not something you expect from a brand new unit, inferior quality rubber I’m guessing. Yes, makes me leary about the rest but time will tell. I do like that it came with the wheels and handle!!! Overall, happy and kinda wish I’d bought 1000W bigger one. Worth it to spend an extra $100 and get more than you think you’ll need. – steve1usmc
