Review: ETQ TG32P12 4000 Watt Portable Generator
The ETQ TG32P12 4000 Watt Portable Generator produces 3250 continuous wattage and 4000 surge watts. It operates at 68 decibels only because of it’s oversized muffler. The engine is enclosed in a steel rolled tube to protect it from damage. To enhance portability, included in the package is a wheel kit that can be attached. Some of the other features include an easy pull recoil start and a 4 gallon fuel tank.
At a 50% load, the TG32P12 can operate for as long as 13 hours. With two 120 volt 20 AMP GFCI protected outlets and one 240 twist lock L14-20R outlet, you will get a lot of power to work with. You can always count on the electricity being clean with ETQ’s Sine Power alternator. This allows users to power their computers and other electronics without any fear.

Pros
- Inexpensive
- Quiet
- Easy start up
- Durable
- Low-oil shutdown
- Wheel kit
- Two GFCI outlets, one 240-volt twist-lock outlet
Most customers say that it takes one or two pulls at the most to get it started. Assembly includes putting on the wheels, handle, and filling it with oil and gas. The low oil shutdown prevents damage, the easy start helps during cold weather, and the quiet operation will not cause a disturbance to you or your neighbors. The voltage and frequency are stable.
Cons
- Start up location
- Product Manual
- No hour meter
One of the main complains customers had was the recoil cord was located in a hard to reach spot. The generator does start easy however. Also, the product manual wasn’t much help and was unclear. The oil hole is also hard to access, and a long hose funnel is need when filling with oil. An hour meter would have been a nice addition.

Customer Reviews
It took about 25 minutes to install the wheels, handle, and fill it with oil (10W-30) and a little gas. The instruction manual is not the best, but is OK. It fired up on the first pull and once I opened the choke, it ran very smoothly. The noise is half as loud as my lawnmower. I was REALLY surprised at that. I tested the outlets with a voltmeter and the 120V outlets were running at 122V and the 240V was right on. The build quality looks as good as those costing twice the price and with some good care and regular maintenance, I think this cheap generator will last for quite a while, at least through a few hurricane seasons. – RedLight from Houston, TX
This ETQ generator pretty much works as advertised. Definitely surprised to see the diverse power output choices that allow flexible connections that can help balance the load. The only issue that earned it 4 of 5 stars was that specs noted 15 AMP circuits & breakers that were actually rated at 13.5 AMPS… not a big deal but a bit surprising. I was a bit skeptical when similar models from ETQ received below average ratings and reviews but this particular model# TG32P12 lived up to the myriad of good ratings and reviews it had received and Home Depot also offered it at a good value. I would suggest this unit to friends & family without reservation. – warkesh from East Hanover, NJ
I have used this many times. Always starts. Not loud. Runs smooth. I have powered a compressor, radio, many quartz lights, sawz all, battery charger, compound saw, more… and no stress on the engine. This is the best value purchase this year. I am very happy with this generator. – ahb3 from Virginia
