Simply put, this generator has it all. From circuit breakers, power outlets, fuel gauge, low oil shutdown, heavy duty frame, wheel kit, volt meter, and so on. Not to mention that it has 8000 continuous watts, which is enough to power a single home in many cases. Assembly is very easy, just a matter of installing the wheel kit. The tires have a lot of give and they never need air. The generator is well balanced and is very mobile. Starting it is easy, all you have to do is pull the choke and turn the key.

Cons

At 72 decibels, this generator is considered noisy. But when you consider just how much power it produces, it’s relatively quiet, perhaps as quiet as some 5000 watt generators out there. This may be loud enough to bother neighbors however.

Some customers also complained about the lack of customer service. They claimed that Max Tools wouldn’t return their phone calls or give them the proper assistance. Others commented that they had a positive experience with customer service, and that the parts they needed were shipped immediately.

When compared to other inverter generators produced by Yamaha, Briggs & Stratton, and Honeywell, the ETQ IN2500i is cheaper in price while still providing more power than each. At 60 dB, the noise level is on par with the HW2000i. It’s a tad bit heavier than it’s competitors, but is still manageable for an inverter. For most, it starts with at most three pulls on a consistent basis.

This inverter is not what I expected. It is suppose support 2,500 watts. It will as long a very small load is added at a time. The breaker kicks out just by starting a DEWALT 3/8″ drill without a load or a sawzall without a load, all are well under the load capacity of this generator. I have sent it back to the manufactor twice for a new one. Same thing. If we use flood lights and turn one on at a time it will support 2,000 watts. The factory techs were absolutely worthless and I would not purchase another one. No way. We took load tests on this unit which they apparantly didn’t even know how to do. Their reply was simply” that’s the was it is. – chiefth

Anyhow, this is a fantastic generator!! I put gas and oil in and she fired up on the first pull!! Remarkably quiet, runs very smooth, and everything is solid on this unit! Metal gas tank WITH GAUGE, metal gas cap, the 12v DC charge pins are a GREAT addition should you need to charge a battery while running the generator. Thanks to this generator we ran the fridge / freezer, lights, 2 deep freezers, 2 televisions, and microwave. I also swapped from one of the deep freezers to our washing machine and ran it, too. While running all of the above, the generator was only using 20% of it’s capability. We ran it for approximately 12 – 14 hours a day and it ran perfectly. One tank of gas lasted all day. I hope this helps. We shut it off at night while we were sleeping, but it probably would have done fine if we had left it on. Keep the oil fresh and it should last. This generator comes almost fully assembled, all I had to do was put on the wheels and add oil, (provided) gas and connect the negative battery terminal. I really am impressed with it. Great for the price. Starts really easy. I do have some problems starting it in below freezing temps. (although what engine doesnt start right away then?) I have a camper and run a 1500 watt heater. However… I do have to wake up ever 3 hours to refuel. The first one I purchased took about 20 or more and always ran erratically. I was disappointed with that purchase . I bought this generator in spite of the bashing many gave it in reviews. I filled it with oil and gas as per the instructions and it burped on the third pull and started on the fourth. It starts on the second or third pull every time if the choke is closed and the economy mode is off. It has good performance and is fairly quiet until it is under a high load. I think the no spark issues some have might be due to the oil level and/or the generator not being level. It took about 25 minutes to install the wheels, handle, and fill it with oil (10W-30) and a little gas. The instruction manual is not the best, but is OK. It fired up on the first pull and once I opened the choke, it ran very smoothly. The noise is half as loud as my lawnmower. I was REALLY surprised at that. I tested the outlets with a voltmeter and the 120V outlets were running at 122V and the 240V was right on. The build quality looks as good as those costing twice the price and with some good care and regular maintenance, I think this cheap generator will last for quite a while, at least through a few hurricane seasons. – RedLight from Houston, TX

This ETQ generator pretty much works as advertised. Definitely surprised to see the diverse power output choices that allow flexible connections that can help balance the load. The only issue that earned it 4 of 5 stars was that specs noted 15 AMP circuits & breakers that were actually rated at 13.5 AMPS… not a big deal but a bit surprising. I was a bit skeptical when similar models from ETQ received below average ratings and reviews but this particular model# TG32P12 lived up to the myriad of good ratings and reviews it had received and Home Depot also offered it at a good value. The Champion 46534 4000 Watt Portable Generator has a 3.8 gallon tank will run for 12 hours at a 50% load. This is very beneficial during power outages, as you can turn it on and let it run for almost an entire day. The recoil start makes it easy to operate. Assembly only takes a few minutes.

Along with a 120-volt 30- amp Twist-Lock, the 46534 has a 120-volt 30- amp RV outlet and another 120-volt 20amp outlet. All outlets are protected by circuit breakers. Having three outlets is advantageous so you can power a number of items at once.

Weighing just 117 pounds and coming with a wheel kit, the Champion 4000 can be moved around without much effort to provide power where needed. Vibration mounts allow for more mobility while reducing noise level.

Cons

Other than a few customer complaints about the generator being damaged upon delivery, there are no considerable flaws with this generator. The only other real downside is that this isn’t one of the top name brands available.

You can’t really go wrong with this generator. It’s reliable, compact, and has a good amount of power.

This is a great generator for its size. We had a storm about a week after we got it. And it took the power out for about seven hours. I started this thing on the second pull, and ran a 10,000 BTU window AC unit and a side by side Frig. and satallite reciver and TV. Never sputterd when the Frig shut on and off with the AC running. Only problem I’ve had so far is that the gasket for the petcock on the gas tank deteriorated and started leaking! Not something you expect from a brand new unit, inferior quality rubber I’m guessing. Yes, makes me leary about the rest but time will tell. I do like that it came with the wheels and handle!!! Overall, happy and kinda wish I’d bought 1000W bigger one. Worth it to spend an extra $100 and get more than you think you’ll need. – steve1usmc
